Jim is currently open to taking commission work, please get in touch if you want to know more about the process, or would be interested in starting a commission journey.
Design, size & materials are all decided on Once they're all confirmed, Jim will submit an initial drawing of the intended piece to you.
This is when all the magic happens! Your piece will be bought to life by Jim.
If your piece is of special meaning to you, photos of its creation can be sent on request.
Once your piece is complete Jim will be in contact and you can now either pick up your brand new carving, or it will be safely shipped to your choice of location at your cost.
Due to the unique nature of each carving, shipping costs will vary greatly. For this reason, if there is a piece that interests you we encourage you to get in touch so individual quotes can be arranged.
Pick up is available from Ashburton, New Zealand
From confirmation of design to delivery of a completed stone carving takes around 2-3 weeks on average.
However, please keep in mind that time for a commission piece can depend greatly on stone availability, detail and size of the intended piece. Due to the number of variables that go into creating a stone carving, timelines are best discussed and confirmed with Jim during the design process for your unique carving.
To commission a unique stone carving from Te Kie Kie, a non refundable deposit of 20% of the expected commission cost is required to cover time spent during the design process.
A price guide will be given at the start of the process, however the final costing will not be confirmed until the artwork is finalised to account for any changes between initial concept and final design.
If you chose not to proceed with your carving after completing the design process, then no further payment is required.
Once the carving is complete, payment in full of the agreed upon balance is required prior to pick up or shipping of the carving.
